Mikkeller Beer Geek Breakfast

Pours a deep impenetrable black from the bottle, very viscous as well. An inch of creamy thick dark tan head rises on top of the brew. Aromas of well roasted malts along with a chocolate character. Then the coffee bean aroma comes in with a nice fresh brewed aroma. A light dark fruity undertone with some anise also.

First sip brings a smooth dark roasted maltiness with a good blast of chocolate and black coffee flavors. The oats make it very slick and smooth, a bit oily even. A slight caramel and dark fruit accent is there as well. Finishes with a good bitterness, a touch of herbal hops and is balanced overall. The bold, tasty coffee flavors linger on after each sip.



Mouthfeel has a big, creamy body. Goes down smooth and is damn tasty! Finishing the bomber is no problem here. This is a highly drinkable brew anytime of the day. Overall, a wonderful coffee stout from Mikkeller, I'm glad to see their brews around Chicagoland now and can't wait to try more.
